Central Synagogue (2014-2020)

Reporting to the Executive Director, I led the development and implementation of the five-year technology strategic plan for this nonprofit organization, which has $28 million in revenue, more than 7,000 members, and 150 employees across three locations.

 

  • Renegotiated all SLAs and IT contracts with all service providers and vendors.

  • Engineered and implemented an MPLS network across multiple data centers and locations.

  • Served as CISO and deployed CrowdStrike while implementing new security policies and KPIs.

Led the IT department and operations across the US, Europe, and Asia for the largest US-based vendor of switching and telecommunications equipment. Reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for the implementation of the ERP/CRM sales force automation SugarCRM system for this $90M revenue company with 200 employees in 16 locations worldwide.

  • Engineered network infrastructure, coordinated and launched warehousing and order management operations in Hong Kong for PICS Asia subsidiary.

  • Overhauled PICS telecom data centers and network grid spanning multiple sites in the US, UK, and Asia.

  • Maintained and upgraded MS-SQL servers, Citrix, ESX Virtual Servers, and SharePoint.

  • Achieved ISO 9001 and TL9000 certifications for order processing, fulfillment and recycling operations.

  • Secured all subsidiaries and remote locations by implementing IP/VPN and MPLS networks.

  • Spearheaded development and implementation of numerous .Net and Mobile barcoding and scanning applications for warehousing, inventorying, and order processing and fulfillment.

• Managed, directed, and delivered multiple large-scale projects on time and within budget; designed and supported all technology and custom applications development.

• Wrote NewWave Consulting Group contracts, proposals, and service-level agreements in support of the company’s participation in the bidding process for private and government contracts.

• Oversaw the integration of numerous web sites and web-based system applications for the e-commerce, warehousing, entertainment, and travel industries.

• Led the development and implementation of the Internet Career Exchange (ICE), recognized by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, the Rochester Business Journal, and Electronic Business Industry magazine as one of the most innovative web sites of the year.
